Hello Mt. Pleasant Parent Community!!
The mission of Read Across America has broadened beyond a celebration of reading and books. Through books, children can discover diversity, acceptance, and joy. This article, You’re Not Too Old for Picture Books, presents such compelling reasons for keeping picture books in the hands of children well beyond 1st or 2nd grade. A podcast that I love, Kids Ask Authors hosted by children’s author, Grace Lin, highlights authors’ answers to kids’ questions as well as book reviews by kids — check it out!
